Ellie-maie’s kindest cut raises almost £500 for Prospect Hospice

We were delighted recently to welcome young Ellie-maie Green to Prospect Hospice, where she presented our community fundraiser Amy Francombe with a cheque for £494, which she raised in sponsorship when she had 16 inches cut from her hair.

Ellie-maie was inspired to raise money for Prospect Hospice because her Nan is currently a patient whose care needs are being supported by us. It wasn’t just Prospect Hospice who benefited from Ellie-maie’s haircut either, with a donation for the same amount made also to Cancer Research, and the hair that she sacrificed being donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to young children undergoing cancer treatment.

Dad Matt was delighted that his daughter had chosen to raise funds for the charity that’s currently supporting his Mum. “I am very proud of her, and especially because it was her idea, and that she was happy to do it,” he says.

When she called in, Ellie-maie had clearly got used to her shorter hairstyle. “It was weird at first, but now I think it’s better!,” she says.

Our huge thanks to  Ellie-maie and her family for their wonderful support for Prospect Hospice.
