Salons unite to raise £1,000 for Prospect Hospice

Two salons based in Swindon town centre have joined forces to raise a very welcome cash boost of £1,000 each for Prospect Hospice and Crowdy’s Hill School.

You’re Inspired Beauty and Sass Hair & Beauty are both located in the same premises on Bridge Street, and owners Sass Joyce and Beverley and Alice Wright, with support from hairstylist Chloe Mills, came together to put on a charity fashion show and shopping event at the Mercure Hotel in South Marston on 10 May. The money was raised through stall fees (there were 20 stalls at the event), and sales of more than a hundred tickets to the fashion show and a raffle on the night. Prizes to be won at the raffle included a David Lloyd family voucher, GHD hair straighteners, chocolates and cakes and donations made by some of the stallholders on the day. Businesses including LK Bennett, Phase 8 and Carry On Vintage lent the organisers clothes for the fashion show, which featured 20 volunteer models.

Sass Joyce said: “It was lovely to see staff, clients, friends and family giving their time and skills to help these two great causes. We are very pleased with the success of the evening, and with the dedication of the team.”

Amy Francombe, Prospect Hospice’s community fundraiser, said: “Huge thanks to everyone at You’re Inspired and Sass Hair & Beauty for all their fundraising efforts for Prospect Hospice – we greatly appreciate it.”
