James’s golf tournament raises £838 for Prospect Hospice.
Our huge thanks go out to seventeen-year-old James Stratford, a keen golfer who organised a Junior Captain’s Golf Day tournament at Broome Manor Golf Club and raised £838 for us.
James organised the event before Christmas in memory of a grandmother he never got to meet, but in thanks for the care that she received at Prospect Hospice: “I organised the tournament on the 20th anniversary of my grandmother’s passing because I have been told how well she was looked after by Prospect Hospice,” he says. “Although I didn’t know her, it’s comforting to know how well she was cared for,” he added.
James is quick to acknowledge the support he received from family and friends in making sure the day was a success, saying: “I would like to thank my mum, Caroline, my dad, Richard, and Gina, Nobby, Craig, Lisa, Emma, Brendan, Sharon, Andy, Andrew and Steve for all of their help on the day and a thank you to everyone who played or helped in any way.”
Hollie Ricketts, our Community Fundraiser, said: “I’d like to thank James on behalf of everyone at Prospect Hospice for all of his hard work and dedication in organising such a brilliant event and for supporting Prospect Hospice in memory of his grandmother. I would also like to thank everyone who helped the event become such a success.”
