Paul and Jan's fundraising raises more than £2,000 for Prospect Hospice
It was a pleasure earlier this month for our fundraising team to welcome to the hospice Paul and Jan Drabble from Swindon who have raised £2050.86 for Prospect Hospice this year. This fantastic sum was raised by Paul and Jan through a barbecue and afternoon tea event that raised more than £500 in the summer and a masquerade ball in October which raised a further £1,500.
The inspiration for their fundraising for Prospect Hospice came from the care that we gave to Jan’s parents, who were both patients here in recent years; Jan’s father was cared for at the hospice in Wroughton, while her mum was supported through our Prospect@Home team. “For the care that they gave, Prospect Hospice really deserved the funds we raised,” says Paul. “I’m from Sheffield originally and have been a supporter of the local hospice there in the past, but the care Prospect Hospice gave Jan’s parents was wonderful. It wasn’t easy to raise the money that we did, but it was such a rewarding thing to do.”
Hollie Ricketts from our fundraising team said: “We are so grateful to Paul and Jan for all that they did to raise the money that they have for us. Their support means that we can care for more patients and their families, as we did for Jan’s parents.”
