Team Immunocore raise £13,120 in memory of colleague and friend
A 23-strong team from biotechnology company Immunocore took on the Prospect 10k in February, tackling mud and obstacles in memory of friend and colleague Pete Wilkinson, who was cared for at the hospice last year.
Pete worked as Head of IT at Immunocore, an Oxford-based company which works to develop drugs that have the potential to treat diseases including cancer, viral infections and autoimmune diseases.
The team raised £3,120, with Immunocore generously donating an additional £10,000. This total donation of £13,120 could pay for three patients to be cared for on our In-Patient Unit (IPU) for two weeks, or could run our Day Therapy Unit, which provides invaluable respite for our patients, for 16 days. The donation could even pay to run the whole IPU for two full days.
Louise Brooks, Challenge Events Fundraiser for Prospect Hospice, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Team Immunocore for taking part in the Prospect 10k, and to all their sponsors for taking the time to donate. We really appreciate all the hard work that went in to fundraising, along with the incredibly kind donation from their company, Immunocore.”
