Source to Sea

Follow the River Dart from its source in the heart of Dartmoor, down to where it meets the sea. Trek across wild and rugged terrain and canoe down the winding river to the sea in Dartmouth. This challenge is an incredible adventure that you won’t want to miss!

Dartmoor is the largest area of true wilderness in the South of England, and is generally considered a testing navigational challenge. You will enjoy the very best of its wild and rugged landscape, passing many of Dartmoor’s historical sights that date from as long ago as 4000 BC. There are very few paths and trails on the moor, and the conditions underfoot can at times be quite hard going. Unlike other wild areas of England, the moor is not crowded, and you won’t see many people during the walk. However, you may well see buzzards, ravens, badgers or foxes during your journey.

"A fabulous weekend of adventure, exploration, friendship, laughter and fun, with a little hard work mixed in, but above all, raising money for Prospect Hospice." - Paul Bassett, who took on this challenge in 2017. Click on the portlet on the right to read his blog about the trip!
