The care we offer to patients and their families costs over £7.2m every year, seventy-two percent of which is raised through the support of our community. Below is a selection of the many people who have raised money for us. Left - A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Howard Tenens Grand National Sweepstake, helping to raise a fantastic £500!
Centre - A huge thank you to Carol and Julie for putting on a fantastic fashion show on the 19 November at St Augustine's Church. Thank you to all those who donated garments, volunteered and modelled on the night!
Right - Since 2010, A&S Flooring have been holding an annual Golf Day at Shrivenham Golf Club, and in that time have raised an incredible £6437.50. Thank you so much to Danny, Lee and the whole team at A&S for all their hard work in fundraising.
Right - The FPP&I department at Nationwide Building Society raised a brilliant £324 through a Quiz Night at the Bayberry, Wichelstowe in October. Thank you to Tia, Megan and Sally for all their hard work, and to everyone who went along on the evening.
Centre - The U3A Quilting Group raised £145, money raised through raffling off a handmade quilt at the U3A Freshers’ Fair in September. The winner Lynda Ashmore was asked to choose from three charities put forward by the group members and she very kindly chose us. A big thank you to Lynda and all of the members of the U3A Quilting Group for this lovely donation.
Right - Thank you to Freda and Ian Milne for their latest donation of £200 from their Murder Mystery Dinner Party in September. This most recent donation brings the total they have raised through dinner parties to a fantastic £1,320!
Left - Staff at Swindon Borough Council raised a brilliant £508 in sponsorship for their participation in the Swindon Dragon Boat Race. A big thank you to the Prospect Pirates team for this great donation and for all their hard work on the day.
Centre - Members of Shrivenham Bowls Club raised a great £155 through a quiz night in aid of Prospect Hospice. Thank you to everyone who went along on the evening for the fantastic support.
Right - Members of Highworth Lodge 9009 raised a great £250 through a raffle at their annual Family Garden Fete in July. Thank you very much to the members of Highworth Lodge and everyone who went along to the fete.
Left - Georgia Davey raised a brilliant £345 in sponsorship for having her head shaved. Thank you to Georgia for the great donation, and to all of her colleagues at the Great Western Hospital Academy for their support of Georgia's head shave.
Centre - The Chelsea Supporters Club Swindon Branch, also known as the Swindon Blues, very kindly donated a signed football and football shirt to be used to raise funds. A big thank you to the club members for their generosity.
Right - Alexandra House Hotel Leisure Club has raised a brilliant £307.91 through Coffee Mornings in aid of Prospect Hospice. This cheque presentation coincided with a farewell to Leisure Manager, Christine Doyle, who has supported Prospect Hospice greatly through organising the coffee mornings. A big thank you to everyone at the club and goodbye and good luck to Christine.
Left - The organisers of the Chiseldon Community Coffee Mornings donated a brilliant £415. The money was raised through the sale of drinks and cakes at coffee mornings last month, also through raffles for the Queen's birthday. A big thank you to the ladies for this very generous donation. The coffee mornings take place every Friday from 10am until midday at the Calley Memorial Hall in Chiseldon, and raise money for various local causes. Feel free to pop along for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Centre - Mike Madden raised a fantastic £2,100 at the beginning of July through the Ectos-Rave for the Brave event at The Vicoria pub in Swindon. A massive thank you to Mike for this great donation and for all of his hard work toward organising this sell out event.
Right - Millie Knight raised over £150, in memory of her grandad, through selling cookies and cakes. A big thank you to Millie for her brilliant fundraising efforts.
Left - The Swindon Shimmyers raised £282.30 through their annual Evening of Belly Dance event. The group have raised a fantastic £2,865.80 since the events began in 2009. Well done and thank you to The Swindon Shimmyers for the brilliant amount raised so far and for their continued support.
Centre - Emily Steadman and her friends at Highworth Warneford School raised £206 through a Cake Sale and ticket sales for a talent show they put on at the school. A big thank you to Emily, her friends and everyone at Highworth Warneford School for this very kind donation.
Right - Karoliina Saunders Hair Design raised £120 through a stall at the May Day Market in Highworth. Market-goers made donations for Sci-Fi hair styles inkeeping with the May Day Market's theme. Thanks to everyone from Karoliina Saunders Hair Design and to everyone who had their hair styled by them on the day.
Left - Staff at Cherwell Software raised £143.27 through their recent Bake Off event and Easter Raffle. Thank you very much to everyone at Cherwell for this generous support.
Centre - The Soroptimist International Swindon and District group have made a fantastic donation of £850 raised through donations from members, a plant sale, and a fundraising evening selling chocolates and crafts. A big thank you to all of the group members for this very generous donation.
Right - Staff at Intel Corporation have raised £442.36 through their Prospect Donaton Day Raffle. Our thanks to everyone at Intel Corporation for their continued support.
Left - Tony Martin raised over £2,000 in sponsorship for shaving off his moustache which was thirty eight years in the making. Tony donated half of his sponsorship to the Zurich Community Trust and half to Prospect Hospice. Thank you Tony for your fantastic donation.
Centre - Staff at AFL Swindon recently donated a great £200 raised through their Christmas raffle in 2015. A big thank you to everyone at AFL for this generous donation, and to anyone who supported the fundraising by donating prizes and buying tickets.
Right - The Minety St Leonard's Church Handbell Ringers raised a brilliant £800 through collections at their performances over Christmas. The ladies rung in the festive cheer at Sainsbury's, Bridgemead, and at the Minety Pavillion. Thank you to the Handbell Ringers, Sainsbury's, Minety Pavilion, Minety W.I and everyone else who kindly contributed to their fundraising.
Left - Jane Beaumont, Alison Green and friends raised a fantastic £432.82 through the Chiseldon Christmas Coffee and Cake Morning on 11 December at the Calley Memorial Hall. The ladies made and sold homemade cakes and held a raffle to raise extra funds. A big thanks to them and to everyone who went along!
Centre - Marlborough WI Garden Party In November 2015 the ladies of the Marlborough WI raised £234.50 by holding a Garden Party to raise funds towards our new Savernake Out Patient unit and the services and care provided to the community of Marlborough and the surrounding villages.
Right - The Hungerford Dinner Dance In Memory of Ann Hutchings held on Friday 23 October 2015 raised an incredible £7,023.90 towards the ongoing costs of the services and care provided to the community of Marlborough and the surrounding Villages. Thank you to Ann Parker for all her hard work and support to make this evening one to remember.
Left - Thank you to Gavin and Chris of the Burbage News who organised the ‘Burbage Super Month’ for Prospect Hospice in July. Also a massive thank you to all the groups, organisations and individuals that fundraised toward the total amount. Well done!
Centre - Brian and Janet kindly opened their garden for the second time for Prospect Hospice, previously in 2011. Thank you to everyone who supported their event in July 2015 raising £953.
Right - Milton Lilbourne Summer Fayre committee kindly chose to support Prospect Hospice for the fourth year running, raising £2,675. They have now raised over £7k for Prospect Hospice. Thank you very much for all your support and hard work.
Left - A team of eight from Arthur J. Gallagher raised £8,259.36 when they took part and completed the 2015 BUPA London 10k. A huge well done to the team and a massive thank you to all those who sponsered them.
Centre - Intel employees raised £256.40 from holding a Prospect dump day, where employees donated their unwanted items to riase money for Prospect Hospice. Thank you so much to all the employees for their continued support.
Right - Matthew Steven-Fountain raised £1,100.85 when he completed the 2015 Virgin London Marathon. Thank you to Matt for choosing to support Prospect Hospice for his first marathon and doing so well with his fundraising.
Left - Clare Bartholomew completed a London to Paris cycle challenge and raised a fantastic £3,722.45. Clare raised the money by carrying out supermarket collections and getting sponsored by family and friends. A huge thank you and well done to Clare for all the hard work she put into her fundraising and training!
Centre - The 2015 Combatathon raised £4.494. through 4 hours of fast paced combat exercise in what was their 6th annual event. A big thank you Jo Kearsley and Lorraine Collins for organising the event, the instructors Lorriane, Tammi and Nat and all those who took part.
Right - Well done to Team FLIC, Aligra and Prospero who took part in our 10k event and raised £1,050. Thank you for all your hard work!
Left - Staff at Sainsbury's Stratton who raised £141 for Prospect Hospice by holding a Christmas Jumper day in memory of a colleague. Many thanks to all the staff for their support.
Centre - Robert Barrow donated £200. which he raised through hosting a dinner party for twenty five people! Robert decided this is how he wanted to celebrate his recent birthday, so he prepared a three course meal and asked all his guests to make a donation to Prospect Hospice. A big thank you to Bob and all of his guests for this generous donation.
Right - The 1st Moredon Brownies raised £115.13 through various fundraising activities including a Cake Sale, Games and a Sponsored Silence. A group of the girls also presnted to their school about Prospect Hospice. Thank you to all the girls for this generous donation and for all your support!
