The Mazzotta Family Story
One of the many families that joined us at our Light up a Life service last Christmas was the Mazzotta family from Swindon, who were there to remember husband and father Nick Mazzotta. By coincidence, last year’s service was held on the first anniversary of Nick’s death, which made the occasion especially poignant for the family to remember him with us.
Despite being the anniversary of the day Dad died, the service at Prospect Hospice was where the family wanted to be to remember him on his first anniversary. It was very emotional for us all, but it was so beautiful, and very touching. The service was so well thought out and organised and the team at the hospice clearly had peopleís hearts in mind when they planned it. You realise at Light up a Life that youíre not alone in your grief and loss.
For us, Prospect Hospice hasnít just become a special place, but is also a charity that will forever stay close to our hearts. It is important to us that we do all that we can to raise money for Prospect Hospice, because we understand that without the fundraising of local supporters, Dad wouldnít have had the excellent end-of-life care he needed and we wouldnít have been able to spend so much time together as a family.
We will never forget how Prospect Hospice supported us all and made us feel like we were the only people there. We canít thank them enough for all that they did for us then, and for all that they continue to do.
