Volunteering at Prospect Hospice

Give it a go!

At Prospect Hospice, we are proud of the remarkable contribution made by our volunteers, which is absolutely vital to our work.

There are many ways in which volunteers can get involved, sharing their skills and experience to help us deliver high quality end-of-life services. We have volunteers in nearly 40 different roles that vary from supporting the care of patients and families at the hospice and in the community, helping in our charity shops and driving patients, to helping our fundraising team generate the money we need to operate and tending to our gardens.

We welcome volunteers from the age of 16 in our shops, and 17 in most other roles, meaning we have opportunities for all who wish to be involved.

In this section you can find out about our current volunteer opportunities and how to apply for them, as well as what you can expect from us. Additionally, you can read the volunteer profiles, which describe what volunteering feels like for some of the people who already give us their time.

If you would like to join our volunteer team please register your interest, or if you would like more information please contact us on 01793 816193 or email volunteering@prospect-hospice.net

Why should you volunteer with Prospect Hospice?

We are proud to have a team of over 600 dedicated volunteers making a huge contribution to the work of Prospect Hospice. We simply couldn’t provide the care to those who need it without their contribution.  Volunteers support a wide variety of teams and therefore we are able to offer a vast array of fulfilling roles to suit a variety of interests.

You may wish to volunteer with Prospect Hospice to acquire new skills, or you may have skills that you would like to share with us. Perhaps you would like to meet new people or gain experience in a certain area for career or personal progression. Whatever your reason for volunteering, we aim to ensure that you feel well supported and valued and that the time you give us helps us and helps you reach your goals.
