Responsible to: Fundraising Manager
Based at: Prospect Hospice, Wroughton
JOB SUMMARY
To maximise fundraising income from large events. To ensure targets are achieved and sufficient income is received to support the activities of the Hospice. To develop beneficial and lasting networks within the community. Continually raise the profile of the Hospice whilst championing all aspects of the charity’s work. To report to the Fundraising Manager on all fundraising activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To achieve agreed income targets, taking a lead and individual responsibility for specific events.
- To create, develop and organise sponsorship for a range of events to raise income for the Hospice.
- To attend fundraising events and activities outside normal working hours, weekends and Bank Holidays when required.
- To liaise with the Communications officer regarding the publicising of fundraising activities and events.
- To optimise use of the fundraising database and assist in the production of proposals, reports and plans.
- To prepare correspondence, relating to fundraising activities as necessary, interrogating the fundraising database as required.
- To ensure efficient use of resources and to enable further growth in activity and income to achieve departmental targets.
- To work within the limits of the annual community fundraising expenditure budget.
- To keep accurate records of fundraising activities and analyse information and statistics so as to accurately target fundraising activities.
- To ensure that existing/new events and activities are researched, planned and implemented in a timely manner. Ensuring fundraising initiatives achieve maximum potential.
- To schedule and supervise Fundraising volunteers, in line with agreed admin / clerical activities and at events.
- To ensure the identification of risk, both physical and financial, relating to fundraising activities.
- To develop the annual fundraising plan in conjunction with the Fundraising Manager.
- To provide financial information regarding events/activities as required by the Fundraising Manager. Ensure all monies emanating from each event are paid in promptly and accurate records kept

Prospect Hospice provides specialist end of life care for the people of Swindon and North East Wiltshire. Care is delivered with our 14 bedded In-patient Unit, Day Hospice, Great Western Hospital and within the local community. Our person-centred approach is dependent upon effective collaborative working, and in addition to medical and nursing our services also comprises a family support team, rehabilitation team and complementary and creative therapists.

Prospect@Home is a new service which will deliver a comprehensive home based palliative nursing service.
The purpose and main aim of Prospect@Home is to enable patients who wish to do so to spend time at home during a crisis in their illness or for the last days of their life.

While the service will be available for up to 24 hours a day, it is fully expected that the greatest demand is likely to be at night.
