Do you have the time and the skills to support Prospect Hospice as a volunteer?
If so, we would love to hear from you. All aspects of our work benefit from the involvement and support of volunteers, each playing a vital part in supporting the Hospice, and all in their own way contributing to the experiences of patients and families in our care.
There are always opportunities for volunteers to help our work. Let us know who you, and how you would like to help, and we will look to match your skills to our work.
There is so much you can do, including:
- Working on our reception - bringing a warm welcome to visitors
- Supporting in-patients, offering companionship as well as helping serve meals and drinks to patients and families
- Supporting our fundraising team both in the office, and at events
- Helping at one of our shops - you'll find them across Swindon, and in Marlborough, Pewsey, Highworth and Hungerford
- Driving patients to and from their weekly visit to Day Hospice
- Providing complementary therapies for patients and their carers
- Supporting the smooth running of the hospice with general and specific administration skills
In return, we will give you:
- Confidence through training and support
- The chance to develop new skills – and to refresh and practice old ones
- Friendship and respect
- Our thanks along with those of the patients and families you will meet
