28 January 2010 Market manager brings £3000 to Prospect
Prospect supporter Maurice Mapson, the manager at Blunsdon market, called in to the Hospice today to deliver a donation of £3005 towards our care.
Maurice has raised the funds over the last year through a stall with an ‘honesty box’ of unsold gifts sellers at the market’s regular car boot sales have been unable to sell, and also through a Christmas raffle, which was generously supported by traders at the market.
“The stall was mostly items that people would’ve otherwise thrown out,” explains Maurice, “and I thought that if someone would like to make a donation for items, then perhaps we could raise some money for Prospect.”
Maurice has supported the Hospice for as long as we have been here, guided by the care his late mother received many years ago, and he is proud to be able to contribute to the care Prospect gives to patients across our region, “I look in the paper and, when I see that someone has been cared for at the Hospice, I say to my wife, ‘I have helped them in my own way’.”
The thanks of everyone at Prospect go out to Maurice and all the customers and traders at Blunsdon market for your generous support.
