28 January 2011 And the winner is...
At the end of last year, we announced we had a silver bond place for the marathon up for grabs. A silver bond place gives the charity an automatic place for one runner every five years. We asked for anyone who wanted to run for the hospice to pledge an amount in sponsorship, with the person who pledged the most winning the coveted position.
Having been unsuccessful in applying for the race through the usual ballot, Bev Watts was thrilled to have won the Hospice’s bond place with a pledge of £2,500. Bev and her family have been long term supporters of Prospect Hospice, and she has already started to get into gear with a fundraising and training campaign, launched last week.
And with £1,815 already raised through her online giving page, Bev looks set to smash her pledged amount. We will be keeping you updated with how Bev is training for the marathon shortly, but in the meantime if you would like to sponsor Bev at http://www.justgiving.com/Beverley-Watts |
