Prospect Hospice: Making each day count Prospect Hospice

Volunteering

Volunteers are essential to the daily work of Prospect Hospice. They enhance the care given by paid and professional staff, and their contribution is vital to our services.

We value our volunteers greatly, and offer them the training, support and encouragement they need to carry out their roles.

Here are just some of the ways in which our volunteers support our work:

Drivers

  • From driving patients to and from the Day Hospice, to collecting and delivering donated goods to our nine shops, we rely on volunteer drivers in many areas of our work. If you would be happy to give some of your time towards driving for us, we would be glad to hear from you.

Reception

  • Our reception volunteers are often the first person someone will meet when they come to the Hospice, and they always offer a warm welcome for patients, families and visitors. Reception volunteers also help with our mail and some administrative tasks

In-patient Unit

  • Volunteers bring essential support to the work on our In-patient Unit through a range of non-nursing tasks, in particular serving meals and refreshments for patients.

Charity Shops

  • Volunteers help out in each of our nine shops, supporting sales, display and the preparation of the quality goods we sell to the public.

Fundraising

  • Volunteers support our fundraising team in many ways, lending a hand at specific events, offering administration skills in the tasks in the office, and delivering, collecting and emptying money boxes from homes and businesses across the community we serve.

Others

  • We always think we can match your skills to a volunteering opportunity, and If you can offer your skills in areas we've not listed above, we would love to hear from you..
