We understand how important that initial introduction is. As a provider of specialist end-of-life care, we are starting a connection with people that is often at a very emotional time and getting that right is key in developing a relationship that is based on strong communication and trust.
Dr Kate Granger was a consultant geriatrician who was diagnosed with an incurable cancer several years ago. Throughout her illness, she campaigned for better communication after noticing that a number of healthcare professionals did not introduce themselves when first meeting Kate and her husband Chris. From this, the #hellomynameis campaign was started - a campaign that has gained positive recognition across the world.
Kate died on July 23 2016. To mark the anniversary of her death, her husband announced International #hellomynameis day.
We pride ourselves on knowing how important that first interaction is and are delighted to support this day. To find out more about the campaign, click here.
