Lockeridge couple’s garden opening raises £953 for Prospect Hospice

A green-fingered couple from Lockeridge who opened their colourful and extensive garden and wild flower meadow last month to raise funds for Prospect Hospice have presented a cheque for £953 to the charity’s Marlborough Community and Events fundraiser.

Brian and Janet Rayment opened their garden to visitors last month in exchange for a donation to the hospice, and it was the second time that they have opened their garden for Prospect Hospice previously in 2011.

Mike Kennedy, the charity’s Marlborough Community and Events fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful to Brian and Janet for opening their garden again to raise funds for us, and to everyone who came along to support their event. We would also be pleased to hear from anyone in the Marlborough and surrounding areas who would be interested in taking part in our Open Gardens programme 2016.”

Brian Rayment said: “We had fantastic support from the local community on the day, and lots of cakes were donated for the event, so a big thank you to everyone who supported our event, especially to everyone who was kind enough to bake.”
