Sainsbury's book bring and buy sale raises more than £200

We were delighted this week to be presented with a cheque for £201.60 by Barrie Matthews and Trish Carter from Sainsbury's store in Stratton. The money the cheque represented had been raised by the store's popular bring-and-buy charity book sale. The scheme is supported by the store's customers, and has books available for just 50p or £1 for three.

Store manager Val Atwill said: "We recognise the place Prospect Hospice has in people's hearts locally, and that is reflected in this result. Once again our customers and colleagues have shown their generosity and selflessness."

Prospect Hospice community fundraiser Amy Francombe, who received the cheque, said: "On behalf of everyone at Prospect Hospice I would like to thank Sainsbury's colleagues and customers for their generosity."
