We couldn’t do what we do without considerable support from our local community. Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.

On Saturday 27 June, join us for a sparkling evening of connection, reflection and celebration under the stars, all while raising vital funds for hospice care.

Join us for our 18th Annual Starlight Walk.
As the sun goes down, you’ll set off on a walk to share memories, remember loved ones and be part of something truly special. Whether you choose the 10km or 15km route, you’ll be guided by twinkling lights, glowing lanterns and the colourful outfits of those around you. You can expect tutus, scrunchies, leg warmers and a whole lot of glitter!
The walk is open to all, bringing friends, families, colleagues and supporters together to create a truly memorable evening.
Early bird tickets are now available for just £15. Book your place before 31 March.
Would you like to volunteer with us?
There are lots of ways to get involved, whether you’d like to marshal along the route, help at the reflection point or give out medals at the finish line. We offer complete flexibility, so you can volunteer for a few hours or the whole evening. Without our volunteers, events like this simply wouldn’t be possible.

Are the routes accessible?
Yes, our 10km and 15km routes are planned with accessibility in mind. However, due to the distance, we encourage you to go at a pace that’s comfortable to you.
Are the routes suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes, our 10km and 15km routes are designed to suit all fitness levels. However, as it’s not a race, we encourage you to walk at your own pace.
Do I need to pay to take part?
Yes, there is a small registration fee of £22 per person. This helps cover the costs of the event, including the venue, t-shirts and medals. However, you can save with our early bird tickets, which are available for £15 until 31 March.
Do I need to fundraise to take part?
Yes, we encourage you to fundraise or donate a minimum of £50. This will go towards caring for patients and families when they need us most.
Can I bring my children with me?
Yes, children are very welcome to take part. However, please keep in mind that the event usually finishes around midnight.
Can I bring my dog with me?
Yes, your four-legged friends can come along. However, we just ask that they are kept on a lead throughout the walk.
Terms and conditions
All paying registrants (PR) must complete and sign a registration form or enter online before taking part. Each PR needs to ensure that every member of their party has given the PR their permission to enter them into the event and given permission to submit their name and contact details. These details will be held by Enthuse (for online entrants) and Prospect Hospice for the purpose of administering this event. All children aged 18 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult who will be responsible for their safety throughout the event. Children must remain with their responsible adult during the event and not separate from them. Participants must be aged 12 and over to take on either route. All participants are expected to raise sponsorship, a minimum of £100, or make a personal donation in lieu of sponsorship. The non-refundable entry fee is to cover the cost of administration and resources for the event and entitles each walker to a t-shirt and medal. Dogs are permitted to join their owner on the walk. Sensible footwear must be worn and care taken. The course is multi-terrain. If you have a medical condition which could be affected by exercise, please obtain your doctor’s approval before participation. While all reasonable action has been taken by Prospect Hospice to ensure the safety of participants, the charity cannot be held accountable for any injury, loss or damage sustained during this event. By taking part in the Starlight Walk you are representing Prospect Hospice and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. Those who exhibit antisocial behaviour will be asked to leave the event. 10km and 15km route: You enter the walk at your own risk and should not take part unless medically fit to walk your chosen distance. The charity may take photographs of the event and use them in publicity material including on their websites. If you do not want your photograph to be used, please contact the Fundraising and Events Team on fundraisingandevents@prospect-hospice.net. In the unlikely event that we do need to cancel the event; you will be notified by email. If we are unable to re-arrange the Starlight Walk event for another date, we will contact you about refund options.
