At Prospect Hospice, we provide outstanding, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in Swindon, Marlborough and the surrounding areas affected by a life-limiting illness, completely free of charge. For 45 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. Our mission is to ensure that anyone can access the best possible expert care whenever and wherever they need it – whether at the hospice or in their own home. As a charity, we only exist because of the generosity and support of our amazing local community.

We couldn’t do what we do without considerable support from our local community. The closed road race takes you through the beautiful countryside surrounding Swindon, before passing through the villages of Wanborough, Babdury and Medbourne. The mostly flat route is suitable for all abilities, whether you’re taking on your first half marathon or aiming for a new personal best. With supporters lining the route, you’ll be clapped, cheered and encouraged every step of the way. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after race day.
We’re proud to be the chosen charity for the Swindon Half Marathon for the second year running. As part of this partnership, we have a limited number of charity places available with a reduced registration fee of £30. Every runner who joins our team will help raise vital funds, so that we can continue supporting families across our community with care and compassion.
What is the route?
The race starts at 28 The Birches, Swindon, SN3 1PT. It then takes you through the surrounding countryside and local villages, including Wanborough, Badbury and Medbourne.
What time does it start?
The race starts at 12:30pm. We recommend arriving with plenty of time to get ready, soak up the atmosphere and join your fellow runners on the start line.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, there is a small registration fee of £30 per person. This helps cover the costs of the event, as well as the t-shirts, medals and post race goodies.
Is there a fundraising target?
Yes, we encourage you to aim for £250. This will go towards caring for patients and families when they need us most.
What will my registration include?
Your registration includes chip timed results to track your performance, official photos to remember the day and post-race goodies to enjoy once you cross the line. You will also get a t-shirt and medal to really celebrate your achievement.
What support will I receive?
You will have support at every stage of your training and fundraising journey. On the lead up to the event, our team will be sharing advice to help you reach your fundraising goal. There will also be a representative from EverybodyFitness providing fitness support as you train. On the day itself, Swindon Sports Therapy will also be offering massage services at the finish, to help you recover after the race.
Where can I park?
There will be free parking at the Polo Ground, which is a short walk from the start and finish area. We recommend allowing plenty of time to park and make your way to the start line.
