Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
Whether shopping with us in person or online, or donating your pre-loved goods, we thank you for supporting us through our shops where you help to raise around £2million a year for Prospect Hospice.
We pride ourselves on being a great place to work and we're always looking for outstanding people to join our team at the hospice across all areas of the charity.
Could Friday 13th be any scarier?
New to our events calendar this year is our dare devil fire walk challenge and we want to know if you’d brave the heat and walk over hot coals to raise vital funds for the hospice.
What: Prospect Hospice Fire Walk
When: Friday 13 October 2023, 6.30pm
Where: Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club
Registration fee: £25
Fundraising target: £150
Brave the elements at this special event by walking over hot coals for Prospect Hospice.
Before your feet hit the heat, you’ll take part in an hour’s training which will give you everything you need to know about fire walking from a twice Guinness World Record holder for the greatest distance walked on fire and founder of UK Firewalk, Scott Bell. You’ll then head out to complete your fire walk challenge where there will be plenty of room for spectators so make sure you bring your family and friends to cheer you on.
Taking part costs just £25 per person and we ask everyone taking part to raise a minimum of £150 to help support local people at the end of their lives. To help, a fundraising page will be set up automatically for you when you register and our dedicated team will be there to support you every step of the way with ideas to help reach your target.
If we’ve whet your appetite but you want to see what you’re letting yourself in for, here’s a little taster of our fire walk challenge.
“I just wanted to say a HUGGGE thank you from everyone at Arada for the fantastic firewalking event last night. It was a great event, lovely atmosphere and a really excellent team-building exercise! Everyone was still speaking about it this morning!”

Why should you take part in this fire walk challenge for Prospect Hospice?
At the end of her husband Ashley’s life, Prospect Hospice ensured that Nancy could remain his wife, rather than his carer. Here she explains how important the charity was for them in ensuring Ashley experienced the death he wanted.
Thank you to Royal Wootton Bassett RFC for allowing us to use their venue free of charge and to our proud event sponsors, Imagine Cruising.
