At Prospect Hospice, we provide outstanding, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in Swindon, Marlborough and the surrounding areas affected by a life-limiting illness, completely free of charge. For 45 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. As a charity, we only exist because of the generosity and support of our amazing local community.

Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
All profits generated from the Prospect Hospice raffles goes directly to the running costs of Prospect Hospice. During our last Christmas raffle in 2024, for every £1 raised, 84p was transferred directly to the hospice as profit.
We are licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission under the account number of 5080. This raffle is subject to the law in England, Wales and Scotland and run under the rules laid down by the Gambling Act 2005
All proceeds from this raffle go to Prospect Hospice charity, registered address Moormead Road, Swindon SN4 9BY, Registered Charity Number 280093. The person responsible for the raffle is Charlotte Forrest.
Entry to the raffle
1. All entrants must be 18 years or over 2. All entrants must reside in Great Britain 3. Tickets costs £1 each and individual players can purchase a maximum of 50 tickets per raffle. This can be through a combination of postal, online and in store entries 4. Employees that work within Prospect Hospice Individual Giving and Supporter Care teams are not eligible to take part in the raffle 5. Each ticket is unique and has a serial number. This serial number is used to determine the winner 6. Due to changes initiated by the Gambling Commission, it is no longer possible to pay for a Raffle ticket using a Credit Card 7. All players should retain the tickets themselves, as the information written on them is important and players may be asked to show the tickets as proof of entry if a query were to arise following the raffle draw taking place 8. By entering one of our raffles, every player is agreeing to abide to our raffle terms and conditions 9. Tickets can be purchased by buying a physical ticket from our raffle books that we mail to our supporters, or are sold by our volunteers, or bought online via our website and in any one of our charity shops across Swindon and surrounding area
Age verification
10. While it's against the law for anyone under 16 to buy a ticket, Prospect Hospice has chosen to set the minimum age to play at 18 11. Tickets must not be purchased on behalf of a person under the age of 18 12. We reserve the right to carry out any checks which we deem necessary to confirm age eligibility for entry into any raffle draw 13. Any person found to be under 18 years of age who has entered the raffle will be excluded from future entries and any monies paid by them will be returned and, if applicable, any prizes won will be withheld
Prizes
14. The main raffle will have the following cash prizes: 14.a. 1st Prize of £3,000 14.b. 2nd Prize of £500 14.c. 3rd Prize of £250 14.d. 5 runners up prizes of £50 15. Our early entry draw will have ten £25 vouchers for Marks and Spencer 16. There are no alternatives to the prizes published 17. We reserve the right to replace any prize with another that is of equal or a greater value. Where this is deemed necessary, Prospect Hospice will inform players 22. All raffle tickets will be placed in a sealed container, and the prizes drawn in order of prizes named above, at Prospect Hospice on the stated draw dates 23. Based on the number of entries during our Winter Raffle in 2024, the chances of winning a prize from a single ticket was 1 in 344,463
Early entry prize draw
20. All entries received by 10 April 2026 will automatically be entered into an extra prize draw to win one of ten £25 vouchers for Marks and Spencer 21. The draw will take place on 17 April 2026. Any entries received after this date will only be entered into the main draw on the 15 May 2026 22. Details of the winning numbers will be published at www.prospect-hospice.net/raffle-results and where we have contact details, we will contact the winners by email or phone 23. Whilst every effort will be made to contact the Early Entry winners, if we are unable to make contact or award an Early Entry prize within 90 days of the draw, the prize will be withdrawn 24. Winners of the Early Entry prize draw will still be entered into the main prize draw on the 15 May 2026.
Main prize draw
26. The main draw date will take place on 15 May 2026, All entries must be received by 8 May 2026 . Any postal entries received after this date will be treated as donations 27. Prizes are drawn in order of the prize: 1st prize of £3,000, 2nd prize of £500 and 3rd prize of £250, with 5 runner up prizes of £50 28. Whilst every effort will be made to contact the winners, if we are unable to make contact or award a prize within 90 days of the draw, the prize will be withdrawn
Notification of winner
29. The winner will be notified either by telephone or email on the day of the draw, with the exception of winning tickets purchased in our charity shops 30. The winning number will be published on our website www.prospect-hospice.net/raffle-results 31. All prize winners of cash prizes will receive a cheque once proof of purchase for the winning ticket has been provided 32. If a cheque payment from the promoter remains uncashed after 90 days of the draw, this prize will be forfeited and used to fund Prospect Hospice’s vital work 33. We will not accept liability for loss, theft or delay of the prize
Responsible gambling - Self exclusion
34. We are committed to operating our raffle in a socially responsible way. If you or somebody you know, may have a problem with gambling, you can seek advice and support from Gamble Aware 35. You can self-exclude from future raffles for a minimum period of six months and up to a period of five years if it is needed. Any self-exclusion period may, on request, be extended for one or more further periods of at least six months 36. This can be done by filling in the self-exclusion form at self-exclusion and responsible gambling page or making the request by emailing the Supporter Care team at supportercare@prospect-hospice.net
Data protection
37. We will use your personal information for the purpose of administering the raffle and to send you information on our work and other ways you can get involved 38. We will not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Unless otherwise indicated by you, we may occasionally send you information to keep you up to date on how your contributions help fund the Prospect Hospice services and other ways in which you can support 39. Complaints
40. All complaints and disputes relating to the raffle should be directed to our Supporter Care team and will be dealt with in accordance with our complaints and disputes policy and procedure
General
41. The promoter has the right to change or update the raffle rules and/or prize fund at its discretion and raffle participants are invited to regularly check the website for updates. The promoter will update this page to reflect any changes. Changes will also be available from our Supporter Care team 42. We reserve the right without notice or reason to cancel or refuse entry to the raffle. This decision shall be final and binding 43. The promoter accepts no responsibility for raffle entries, communications or prizes which are lost, stolen or delayed in the post, damaged or illegible or for raffle entries from which the prize winner cannot be identified or which have insufficient postage. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt 44. We may amend these terms and conditions at any time. If we make any material changes, we will notify you of these changes before they come into effect
Protection of your funds
45. Your entry fee to the Raffle and any prizes are not protected in the event of Prospect Hospice becoming insolvent
