At Prospect Hospice, we provide outstanding, personalised and compassionate care for everyone in Swindon, Marlborough and the surrounding areas affected by a life-limiting illness, completely free of charge. For 45 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. Our mission is to ensure that anyone can access the best possible expert care whenever and wherever they need it – whether at the hospice or in their own home. As a charity, we only exist because of the generosity and support of our amazing local community.

We couldn’t do what we do without considerable support from our local community. Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Every sofa, table or wardrobe donated helps fund care for local people living with a life-limiting illness, and support for the people who love them.
Your donation helps us be there, in people’s homes, in our hospice and at the moments that matter most. Donations of second hand sofas in Swindon and other quality furniture help raise vital funds for local hospice care.

We currently offer collections across the following postcodes: SN1, SN2, SN3, SN4, SN5, SN6, SN7, SN8, SN9, SN25, SN26 and GL7.
We work with our trusted delivery partner, Boxmove, who manage collections on our behalf. They’ll collect your items from your home and transport them safely to our shops. Boxmove have an Excellent rating on Trustpilot with nearly 4,000 reviews.
We can collect up to six items of furniture that is in a saleable condition. Please call 01793 376 177 for further information.
When you book your collection, you’ll have the option to add Gift Aid to your donation. If you’re a UK taxpayer, this allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 your items sell for, at no extra cost to you. A small tick can make a big difference.
Is this service really free?
Yes - there is no charge for collection. We cover the cost of the service so that your donated furniture can be turned vital funds for local people and their families.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes, we do need you to be home to hand over the donate items. The evening before your collection, you will receive a text from our trusted partner Boxmove with a one hour collection slot.

What happens if my items aren’t suitable upon collection?
If an item isn’t in a saleable condition, our team will not be able to take it. This helps ensure we can raise as much as possible from donations to support our care. If needed, your local council website will have information on recycling and disposal options.
How do I prepare my furniture?
Furniture should be taken apart as much as is possible and any loose debris (eg crumbs) removed.
Can I donate other items too?
Boxmove can only collect the items included in your booking. If you have other items you’d like to donate - like clothes, books or homeware - you can drop these off at any of our local shops. Every donation helps support care for local people and their families. Find your nearest shop
