Steve and Katie met when they were just 19 and 23. From the very beginning, everyone knew that they were meant to be together. Over the years, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, laughter and shared dreams. Together, they raised two wonderful boys, creating a home that was full of the little moments that make a family truly happy.
“When Steve began experiencing seizures, our future together was shattered. I remember being told that he had a brain tumour, and I was devastated.
But the care we received from Prospect Hospice took us from a world of loss to a world of hope. They helped prepare me for what was to come, and how to care for Steve when he got worse. Then, when Steve was admitted to the hospice to help control his symptoms, Prospect Hospice became a home for us.”

“Steve absolutely loved Christmas, so it’s always difficult without him. And I know Christmas will be hard for so many families like ours.
That’s why I really hope you will support Prospect Hospice with a donation today. Your kindness will help another family going through the toughest time.”
Your generosity helps us provide free care and comfort to those who need it most. Every gift, large or small, goes towards caring for families like Steve and Katie. With your donations, we can continue to light up the lives of those around us.
Our annual remembrance service is on Sunday 7 December 2025 at 4.30pm. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those you have lost, as well as find comfort in shared memories, draw strength from the support of the community and take joy in remembering how much light your loved ones brought into your lives.
At the heart of the service will be our Christmas tree, decorated with individual lights to represent those you have loved and lost.
Your support today allows us to keep providing our end of life care and help for families. We'd love to contact you from time to time with news and information about what we are doing and how you can get involved.
