It’s a Prospect Knockout

Back to events

Location: Swindon Cricket Club, County Road, Swindon, UK

Start: Sunday 17th July 2022 @ 10:00am

For those old enough to remember “It’s A Knockout”, you’ll know exactly how much fun this new event is going to be. For those not old enough to remember, we recommend a quick YouTube search and watch a few of the videos – we know you won’t want to miss out on the fun.

Originally a television game show and was very popular with family audiences during the 1970s and 1980s, this event has now been re-created in fields and showgrounds across the country so families and groups of friends can take part and have fun. Prospect Hospice is pleased to be bringing it to Swindon.

The event will see teams play a range of games, which usually involve dressing up, or getting wet, or both, throughout the day to win points. And what do points make? Oh, wait, that’s another game show.

The event could easily be described as a “school sports day for adults” and is ideal for a group of friends, a team building exercise for companies, a family or sports team looking to have a bit of fun, lots of laughs and raise money for Prospect Hospice.

Check out our gallery below of the fun you can expect.

You will need ten people in a team including one nominated captain who is responsible for registering the team. We will require all team member details as soon as you have finalised them (deadline six weeks before the event). Once registered, you will receive separate correspondence from us with the full information required.

What is It's a Prospect Knockout?

A friendly competition where teams of ten battle for glory by taking on giant obstacles, a large foam pit and one another. Teams will compete across several games, and must work together to get as many points as possible to get into the final round. There will be prizes for first, second, third and last place and the best dressed team.

How much is it?

Team registration fee is £300 and teams are required to raise an additional £500 for Prospect Hospice which needs to be paid in no later than two weeks before the event. Spectators can come and watch for a £5 donation per person, these donations will be collected upon entry.

Where is it?

Swindon Cricket Club, County Road, Swindon, SN1 2ED.

When is it?

Sunday 17 July 2022, 10am to 2.30pm.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for participants is 18. Spectators are able to come and watch, there is no minimum age for spectators.

How fit do I need to be?

You need to be in good health but this isn’t the London Marathon – if you could manage a bouncy castle you’ll manage this course.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, there will be toilets available at the event.

What should we wear?

We will be giving extra points to teams that come in fancy dress. So why not dress your team to a theme? There are bonus points for the best fancy dress. We are really sorry but no face or body paints are allowed as they would leave streaks on the inflatables damaging them. Please wear appropriate footwear – training shoes are recommended. As you may well get wet, we do not advise you to wear anything that may be of value to you.

What do we need to bring?

Your team will be allocated a space and you can bring your own gazebo and chairs and anything else you think you may need. There are bonus points for the best decorated gazebo. We do recommend you bring a towel and a change of clothes. Swindon Cricket Club will have food and drink available to purchase.

Joker cards?

There is also the opportunity to play your joker card on one game. Bonus points will be awarded for the best designed Joker Cards.

Where can we park?

There is free parking available at Swindon Cricket Club, subject to availability. Additional parking will be available at Swindon Town Football Club for a small charge.

What if it rains?

In the event of extreme bad weather, we may consider cancelling the event. For the most up to date information on this matter, or on It’s a Prospect Knockout in general, please visit our website or Twitter and Facebook pages. So, even if you think the weather is bad on the day, do come along unless you hear from us.
