For 45 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. Chief Executive
Jeremy joined the charity in May 2023 and knows the area well having lived in Swindon for over 35 years. He’s worked in the charity sector for almost two decades and is also familiar with the hospice sector thanks to his experience as a trustee for another hospice in the south west.
He began his career in retail working for large companies including Sainsbury's and House of Fraser, before moving to the charity sector 18 years ago to work for CLIC Sargent, now Young Lives vs Cancer.
In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys live music, comedy and theatre, as well going for walks in the beautiful local countryside.

Director of Patient Services
Carolyn Bell joined as our Director of Patient Services in 2019. She’s played a pivotal role in transforming Prospect Hospice to an ‘Outstanding’ Care Quality Commission rating by implementing effective systems that motivated staff and centred highly personalised care on patients and families.
Her leadership fosters innovation and professional growth. She actively contributes to regional dementia and palliative care strategies, strengthens alliances within healthcare networks and drives community outreach, such as the memory café and dementia carer events.
Carolyn’s commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration has significantly enhanced patient care and Prospect’s reputation as a leader in end-of-life care, with national recognition for some of our work and innovative practices. She received the ‘William Rathbone X Annual Award for Excellence in the Executive Nurse Leadership of Community Nursing Services’ in 2025 . This is offered by the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing and honours strategic nursing leadership in the community sector.
Director of People
Jo Hollingsworth is a Fellow of the CIPD with over 30 years’ experience in HR, L&D and OD, and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Human Resource Management. She is also an experienced executive business coach.
Jo is the Director of People at Prospect Hospice, and has worked in several sectors including education, social housing and local government. She has also operated a successful HR consultancy business providing services to corporate UK and international businesses.
With a lifelong love of learning, Jo enjoys creating the conditions for people to grow and thrive. She believes in compassionate leadership and bringing the best out in people.
As the Caldicott Guardian, Jo is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of health and care information is protected, making sure it is used legally, ethically and appropriately and in accordance with the Caldicott Principles. The Caldicott Guardian is often referred to as “the conscience of an organisation”.
Director of Income Generation
Charlotte is an inspirational income generation leader with over 15 years’ experience driving strategic growth across the charity sector. Her career spans roles at Save the Children UK, WaterAid, and innovation consultancy Good Innovation, where she helped charities unlock new income streams through creativity and behavioural insight. Charlotte’s approach is rooted in empathy, bold thinking and a deep understanding of donor engagement.
Her decision to join Prospect Hospice was inspired by personal experience and a desire to make a meaningful impact locally. Following the loss of her partner’s mother, Charlotte saw first-hand the value of compassionate end-of-life care and felt compelled to align her work with a cause close to her heart.
Now leading an ambitious five-year strategy to grow voluntary income by 50%, Charlotte is committed to securing the hospice’s future.
Interim Chair of Trustee
David is a Chartered Accountant and a Canon at Bristol Cathedral. David’s mother spent some time as a patient of the hospice and he wanted to give something back for the extraordinary care he felt his mother received. He has considerable experience as a Trustee of many large charities and was, for six years, Vice Chair of a large London NHS Trust with one of the Teaching Hospitals and has served on the management team of several hospitals.
He was a hotelier before becoming an accountant and, latterly, a Partner at Deloitte, the largest accounting firm in the world.
David has held some senior public appointments with, among others, HM Treasury and the Ministry of Defence where he worked at the highest levels of Government. He also gained more than 40 years’ experience as Chair of, or Governor of, many primary and secondary schools, mostly local to Swindon and continues to have a role in local education.
Trustee
Originally from South Africa, Angela has lived and worked in 4 countries, and now calls Wiltshire her home. She has worked in Human Resources and as an Executive Coach and Mentor and Leadership Development trainer for over 25 years and is passionate about the transformative power of people within organisations.
She specialises in helping individuals, teams, and entire organisations unlock their full potential and align with their purpose. Her work spans diverse sectors, including pharma, biotech, investment management, the NHS, education, and manufacturing, providing her with the opportunity to collaborate with professionals from around the world.
Angela is a keen volunteer, working as a coach and mentor to university students, start up businesses and people seeking employment. She believes passionately in the critical nature of Prospect Hospice’s role within the community and would like to bring her expertise and passion to support the Hospice.
Outside of work and volunteering, she plays netball, enjoys travelling, goes to the gym, cycles and loves walking in the Wiltshire countryside with her husband.
Peter is an experienced solicitor with a background in regulatory law. He chairs the Law Society’s professional standards and ethics committee. He has worked in health, accountancy, police and legal regulation. Peter sits in the finance and audit and risk committee.
With over 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Helen brings extensive expertise in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), Reward, Occupational Health, Change and Programme Management. Throughout her career, she has supported executive leadership teams, fostering positive and inclusive workplaces.
Working across diverse sectors —including publishing, technology, third-party logistics (3PL), construction, and FMCG —she has developed a broad and adaptable skill set. Having lived and worked in both UK and Australia she has supported global business within diverse and complex environments.
Now based in Wiltshire with her husband and two dogs, Helen is committed to Prospect Hospice’s mission of providing outstanding, personalised, and compassionate care to those facing life-limiting illnesses. Having witnessed firsthand the vital support the hospice provides, she is passionate about contributing her skills to strengthen its impact. Using her experience she is pleased contribute to ensuring that everyone in the community can access the best possible care, whenever and wherever they need it.
Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr Helen Jones is an experienced consultant anaesthetist who has held senior clinical leadership roles over many years at both Great Western Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust and also at regional level. The work of Prospect Hospice was well known to Helen through her roles as an associate medical director and as deputy medical director, particularly during the early waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. Helen co-chairs the patient services committee and also sits on the combined finance, income generation, audit and risk committee.
Sam has an extensive background in risk management, product and strategy development in the financial services sector. The work of Prospect Hospice was well known to Sam from being involved in fundraising activity in the past and more recently when a close family member was cared for by Prospect both at home and then in the hospice itself. Based on this personal experience she wanted to give back to Prospect and support by utilising her skills developed across her career.
Clare brings over 20 years of international sales and marketing experience across the IT, telecom, and AV sectors, having worked with organisations such as HP Inc., Plantronics, Tech Data, and Polycom. As a marketing consultant, she helps businesses build effective strategies, deliver revenue-generating initiatives, and develop high-performing teams. A certified OKR coach and mentor, she is passionate about supporting others and driving sustainable growth.
Having lived in Wiltshire for 20 years with her two daughters, Clare has volunteered at Prospect Hospice for more than two years. Witnessing firsthand the vital support the hospice provides, she is committed to contributing her skills to strengthen its impact and ensure its long-term sustainability for the community. She is proud to support this mission - helping ensure that everyone can access the best possible care, whenever and wherever they need it, as a member of the Income Generation and Business Development Committee.
Jo sits on our Patient Services Committee and is an enthusiastic pharmacist with a portfolio career spanning a number of sectors. Jo is the Lead Pharmacist for Community Services within HCRG Care Group in Swindon having transferred from Great Western Hospital. Jo has also been appointed into a national role of Deputy Chief Pharmacist for HCRG Care Group. Jo has experience of working within clinical and operational palliative care teams both in the acute sector and in the community. Jo has enjoyed being a School Governor for the last 4 years ensuring the school are delivering high quality education which provides transferable skills in challenging leaders and ensuring compliance with other regulations. Outside of work, Jo enjoys singing and reading.
President
Her Majesty The Queen became our President in 2013, following a visit to Prospect Hospice the previous year, during which she met with patients, volunteers, and staff. Most recently, in January 2025, The Queen returned to the hospice, where she spent time with patients and their families in our inpatient unit, as well as meeting volunteers, staff, and trustees.
Patron
Sarah Rose Troughton is HM Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, a role she was appointed to in 2012. She is the first lady to hold the position in Wiltshire since it was created in the 16th century. Sarah first knew about Prospect Hospice when the late David Margesson, who was a key person in leading the development and building of the hospice, discussed with her the vital role the hospice would play in the lives of people in the local community. Sarah says: “I am delighted to be a Patron of Prospect Hospice and have always been most impressed by the care given to the patients and to those people close to them. I am pleased that the hospice caters for the north-east part of the county, including Swindon. Sarah is involved in a number of diverse organisations within Wiltshire, and she holds Prospect Hospice, along with the hospice movement in particular, in great esteem. Sarah lives nearby with her husband Peter, and they have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.
Patron since 2023 A former trustee since 2018, Pradeep became a patron of the charity in 2023. He is senior strategy director and head of industry standards at Syniverse (a Carlyle Group company), providing strategic oversight on the adoption of leading-edge technologies. He is a recognised industry expert with 27 years’ experience in the mobile/telecoms industry. He is actively involved within the local community and has a passion for community service. He is also a keen table tennis division-1 player and county umpire. He shares the same vision as Prospect Hospice of putting people first and intends to help Prospect Hospice with its outreach, volunteering and fundraising activities. Pradeep’s commitment to the local community saw him achieve a Pride of Swindon award in 2018.
Organic farmer and entrepreneur Helen Browning OBE accepted our invitation to become a patron following a visit to the hospice where she met and chatted with key staff and was given an overview of the services that Prospect Hospice provides for thousands of patients and family members each year. Ms Browning, who lives locally and is also the chief executive of the Soil Association, says: “I know from its reputation of the very important part it plays in my local community in providing unparalleled end-of-life care services, so it is an honour for me to be given the opportunity to represent Prospect Hospice as a patron.”
Jonathan Wilkes has been a patron of Prospect Hospice since 2016, but his relationship with the charity dates back many years, having first hosted and performed at our 30th anniversary ball in 2010. ‘Jonny’ has since returned to host our ball every other year since. His inspiration in becoming a patron was the care that we provided for an aunt of his wife Nikki: “My first experience of Prospect Hospice was when their amazing nursing team cared for my wife Nikki’s late aunt,” he says. “I felt there and then that this was a charity I had to do something to say thank you to, and it’s been my pleasure to have been able to do that. It’s an honour for me to have been asked to become a patron and I look forward to working with the fundraising team to encourage people to support their local hospice.”
