Take on a challenge that gets you feeling good. Whether you’ve decided to take up running, dancing, yoga or baking, set yourself a challenge for January.
Why a Feel Good-a-thon?
When caring for a patient we look after the person as a whole as well as addressing their symptoms. One of the ways we do this is by providing complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy and reiki, to help alleviate symptoms, leaving patients to feel more like themselves.
This January we’ve chosen to do a Feel Good-a-thon! Take on something new, do something that makes you feel good, and raise vital funds so that we can continue to make others feel good too.
How do I get involved?
Whether you swim, run, walk or cycle getting active is a great way to start the year. For example you could swim the distance of the English Channel at your local swimming pool or, with a group of your friends, pledge to walk 100 miles over the course of the month. You could even push yourself to the limit and see how many miles you can run in a day! Improve your health and tness and raise money for Prospect Hospice.
Fancy dusting off your dancing shoes?
Feeling those post - Strictly blues? Organise your own dance-a-thon with your friends, and see who can stay on the dance oor the longest. You could even organise a day of dance, with workshops on di erent dance styles. Don your glitter, and keeeeep dancing!
Looking to lose weight?
Get your slimming group together and get sponsored a pound for every lb you lose, or set yourselves a collective goal for the month. You’ll not only feel healthier, but you’ll raise vital funds for your local hospice.
Invite your friends round for a dinner party to showcase your culinary skills. Ask for a donation from each your guests in return for them being able to enjoy a beautiful dinner cooked by you. You could even organise your very own Come Dine with Me style event. A handful of good friends, a pinch of competition and some delicious dishes make a fantastic fundraiser!
Time for a de-clutter?
Too much clutter after Christmas? Host a garage sale to raise funds for Prospect Hospice. You could even organise a clothes swap at home or at your local parish hall, with the entry fee going to us.
Want to bin a bad habit?
Whether it’s booze or bad language, give up something this January and raise some money for Prospect Hospice. Have a swear jar or, if you can’t go a day without chocolate, set yourself a chocolate ban. Get your friends and family to sponsor you for taking on dry January. Who knew giving something up can make you feel so good!
Just want to feel good?
Organise a pamper evening for yourself and your friends. You could be really indulgent and organise a wine and chocolate tasting party, with donations made to Prospect Hospice.
