For 45 years, we’ve been a dedicated, non-hospital, end-of-life care service for patients and their loved ones - around the clock, every day of the year. Our mission is to ensure that anyone can access the best possible expert care whenever and wherever they need it – whether at the hospice or in their own home. As a charity, we only exist because of the generosity and support of our amazing local community.

We couldn’t do what we do without considerable support from our local community. Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
Our work experience placements are a great way of introducing you, the student, to the world of work. We’ll provide practical exposure to working with a range of roles and departments here at the hospice such as clinical, business, fundraising, catering and facilities.
Our work experience placements give you a real insight into the workplace. You will gain hands-on experience, build new skills, and learn how to work confidently and professionally with others. You will meet people who can support your future career, strengthen your CV, and help you explore whether this type of work is right for you. A positive placement may also lead to a useful reference for the future.
We ask you to take an active part, be reliable, and behave professionally. This includes being punctual, respectful, willing to learn, and open to new tasks and feedback.
