We have really enjoyed having CJ apprentice with us since September 2018. As part of his Business Administration course at New College Swindon, CJ is working at Prospect Hospice to learn more about how health organisations function. So far he has worked as part of the Resources team, Communications team, the Fundraising team and he’s currently shadowing our Voluntary Services team.
CJ said: “All the people around the Hospice helped me to settle in really quickly, everyone was willing to give me a helping hand at the start which now allowed me to be confident enough to go and work in several departments, allowing my business knowledge to expand as much as possible. I couldn’t ask more from an apprenticeship.”
With the apprenticeship continuing to September, CJ will move to our Finance and Human resources departments next. By working closely as part of the teams, he has been able to see how health care professionals work, as well as the support functions of marketing, fundraising, volunteering, finance and resources.
Warren Finney, Head of Community Engagement said: “CJ is a really nice and positive person to be around.”
“He has become part of all the teams he’s worked with, becoming part of Prospect Hospice incredibly quickly. He even posed for a few professional photos for us as part of our new website project. It’s been fantastic supporting CJ and we’ve lots of good things planned for him as he’s doing his apprenticeship in a very active hospice.”
