Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
Whether shopping with us in person or online, or donating your pre-loved goods, we thank you for supporting us through our shops where you help to raise around £2million a year for Prospect Hospice.
We pride ourselves on being a great place to work and we're always looking for outstanding people to join our team at the hospice across all areas of the charity.
Nicola Early had discussed doing a head shave with her hairdresser for over a year before she finally took the plunge in August this year – all in memory of her beloved mum who was cared for by the hospice.
In that time she set up a Just Giving page and promoted her fundraising activity to all of her friends and family on social media, and was overwhelmed by the support she received, managing to raise £1,352.17 entirely from kind and generous donations from loved ones.
“I didn’t do any events or small initiatives, such as cake bakes. I simply shared some information about what it costs to run Prospect Hospice and its services over my social media page,” said Nicola. “My followers were able to see how much of a difference they could make, which encouraged them to donate.”
Hollie Ricketts, Community Fundraiser, said: “I would like to thank Nicola for her fantastic support and I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who sponsored her head shave, who in turn raised a fantastic amount for the hospice.”
