Our online shop will be having its first ever summer sale with a huge range of discounted products available. The sale, starting on Monday 9 August, will discount everything across the site and will run for a few weeks while stocks last.
Victoria Canavan, head of retail, said “We have had so many incredible donations over the last year as people have been having a clear out that we now have lots available on our online shop. So much so that we need to make a bit of room for some new arrivals in September. There will be up to 30% off across the whole online shop, from women’s clothing and accessories to homeware, collectables, books and music. We really do have a wide range of products available meaning there’s something for everyone.
“Our online shop was launched in January when our high street shops had to shut during lockdown. As a charity that relies on the support of the local community, the closure of the shops throughout 2020 meant Prospect Hospice had lost over £1million in income which is vital to ensure those needing end of life care in our community get the support they need.”
When lockdown hit last year, closing all the shops, and with a warehouse full of donated stock, Victoria came up with the idea of taking the donated stock online. Victoria said: “We had a large amount of stock just sitting there that potentially could raise a lot of money for the hospice so we needed to look at a way to make these available and help raise funds. The online shop was our solution and it’s seen a steady stream of income from our regular customers as well as new supporters from all over the country.”
With shops now open again, the online shop continues to sell a variety of items which, for a small fee, will be delivered straight to your door. The shop also runs themes each month and keeps up with the current season, currently offering picnic and sporting items for summer.
Victoria added: “We only have one of each item so when it’s gone it’s gone. If you see something you like, snap it up quickly before someone else does.”
