An annual Chinese New Year fundraiser for Prospect Hospice, hosted by Oriental Aroma returned this January and raised a further £1,169.00 towards our work, bringing the total raised to more than £20,000 in the ten years since it started.
More than 150 children from three schools in Swindon joined Oriental Aroma in Royal Wootton Bassett to try Chinese cuisine whilst learning about traditions and the history of Chinese New Year.
Each year James Huynh from Oriental Aroma holds the event across three days and invites schools in free of charge for the event. All he asks is that the school make a donation of £5.00 per child to Prospect Hospice.
This year three schools including Royal Wootton Bassett Infant School, Brookfield Primary School and Longleaze Primary School got involved and raised an amazing £1,169.00 for the hospice.
We would like to thank the schools for supporting the event, some of which have supported this event each year.
The amount raised will go towards to the cost of providing dedicated end-of-life care to our patients across Swindon, Marlborough and north east Wiltshire.
We must also say a huge thank you to James at Oriental Aroma and all of his staff for providing such a great experience for the local community whilst raising vital funds for the hospice. In the ten years restaurant has run the event in aid of the hospice they have donated an incredible £20,910.19.
