Marlborough Golf Club captain raises close to £3,000 for Prospect Hospice
We were delighted last week to welcome Gordon Buckett, Marlborough Golf Club’s outgoing 2014 captain, who brought with him a donation of £2929.35, which was the sum raised during his captaincy year through a variety of fundraising activities.
Gordon, who supports Prospect Hospice as a volunteer van driver, brought with him Howard Banbrook and Barry Norridge, both former captains at the club and who, like Gordon, also volunteer for the hospice.
“It was an obvious choice for me to make Prospect Hospice the charity I wanted to support during my year as captain,” said Gordon. “Everyone knows that it’s a good local charity, and a very worthwhile cause, and many of us know of people who have been supported by the hospice in their last days.”
Our huge thanks to Gordon and everyone at Marlborough Golf Club for their generous support for Prospect Hospice.
