Wendy’s stepping up to raise funds for Prospect Hospice

Good luck to fundraiser Wendy Hand, who will be walking the Great Wall of China next week in aid of Prospect Hospice.

Wendy, who lives in Wroughton, has raised £3,255 for Prospect Hospice so far and is looking forward to the challenge of trekking over the various sections of a historical landmark. She leaves on 8 September and returns just over a week later on 16 September.

“I’m very excited to be doing this and eager to get going,” she said. “I’ve almost finished my packing, which is important because it’s not so much about what you bring, it’s the weight of it on your back when you’re walking. I shall wear my Prospect Hospice t-shirt on route and I’ll definitely bring my journal so I can write everything down, and, of course, I’ll be taking lots of photos.”

Events and Community Manager Genevieve Arney said: “We want to wish Wendy good luck on her trip and thank her so much for the money she has raised for us. Wendy is really well prepared for this walk and we hope she has a wonderful time there.”
