How planning and anticipating what the future holds, can help the person at the end of life now.

About the course

In a recent report by Macmillian, a staggering 76% of people facing a life-altering diagnosis expressed thoughts of mortality related to their condition. Surprisingly, the revelation that just over one third (35%) of those questioned had shared their thoughts and feelings about their impending death with anyone. However, and worryingly, only 8% of those who had contemplated their mortality had discussions with their healthcare team about this sensitive subject.

These statistics underscore the pressing need for healthcare professionals to take a proactive approach in facilitating advance care planning (ACP) discussions and this is backed up the statistic that only 19% of conversations were initiated by a healthcare professional.

Join our Advance Care Planning course (delivered on-line) where we’ll show you how ACP translates into tangible benefits for patients facing life-limiting illnesses. We will equip you with the necessary communication skills to initiate and navigate conversations whilst cross-referencing with national policies and competencies. Early and open discussions about end-of-life preferences contribute to improved patient satisfaction, reduced anxiety, and enhanced overall well-being.

Prospect Hospice are experts in end of life care. As a charity, the fees charged come back into the hospice, helping us to continue to care for local people living with a terminal illness.
