About the course

Good communication skills are important in order to provide good care to those living with a terminal illness or are approaching end of life.  This presents many challenges with one of the most difficult being how you manage, and feel comfortable and confident, with conversations that matter, where “getting it right” feels paramount.

This session offers you the opportunity to work through what communication really means, how you can improve your communication skills, what is active listening, the barriers to communication whilst considering how we communicate our own worries or concerns.  Here you can take advantage of the time and space to explore what you know already and build on your knowledge and skills to leave the room feeling ‘I can do this’.

This course will be cross-referenced with national policies and competencies so you will be able to transfer your learning when and whether you move to a new work environment.

Prospect Hospice are experts in end of life care. As a charity, the fees charged come back into the hospice, helping us to continue to care for local people living with a terminal illness.
