Prospect Hospice invites you to join Lechlade and District Lions Club’s fifth open water swimming event for a fantastic day of swimming in local lakes at the Bowmoor Sailing Club. The event, will take place on Saturday 5 August at 10am, and promises to be a fun-filled day of swimming.
Participants can sign up for any of the five events organized by the lions club, or take part in Prospect Hospice’s very own Prospect Big Swim Challenge, a 1km swim that allows swimmers to challenge themselves. Registration costs £25 and participants are asked to raise funds through sponsorship for Prospect Hospice so that the charity can continue to provide end of life care for local people in the community.
In addition to the Prospect Big Swim Challenge, there will be a 3km race and three other challenges, as well as a 250m taster swim, available to swimmers of all levels. Whether you’re an experienced open water swimmer or a beginner looking to take on a new challenge, swimmers can test their skills and enjoy the beautiful open waters.
The event will be hosted by Cassie Patten, who won a bronze medal in the 10km open water race in the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, and she’ll be on hand sharing her tips and techniques.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Lechlade and District Lions Club for their fifth open water swimming event,” said Sheryl Crouch, head of income at Prospect Hospice. “This event promises to be a fun day out for all the family, and we encourage everyone to register now to secure their place and start their fundraising journey.”
The Lechlade and District Lions Club has generously pledged to donate all profits from their annual swim to Prospect Hospice this year and Arval UK has kindly sponsored this challenge.
