Prospect Hospice is the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in Swindon and north Wiltshire. Working closely with you, our colleagues within partner organisations, we want to ensure that the very best care is available to everyone facing the end of life. This is why we provide education and development opportunities, all of which aim to encourage learning and build confidence in end of life care and support.
Prospect Hospice has created a unique and tranquil space for the community: a faith garden, tended by volunteers and open to all. The garden offers a beautiful collection of flowers and plants, each chosen for its significance in different faiths.
The garden is a testament to the hospice’s commitment to inclusivity and reflects the diverse spiritual needs of the patients and families it serves. Visitors can sit and enjoy the garden while listening to the birds and discover the stories behind the various plants, learning about their symbolism and cultural importance.
“This garden is a place of peace and reflection,” says Jan, who tends the garden along with Sue “It’s been created by our wonderful volunteers, who have poured their hearts into making it a space where everyone feels welcome.”
The garden is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity for people of all faiths and backgrounds to connect with nature and find solace. It also serves as a valuable resource for patients and families at the hospice, providing a peaceful environment for contemplation and healing.
Prospect Hospice invites the community to visit the faith garden and experience its beauty and tranquility. The garden is a symbol of unity and hope, celebrating the diversity of faith within the local community.
