Fire walk terms and conditions

By registering for the Friday 13th Fire walk, you have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

  • We ask that everyone is sponsored in aid of Prospect Hospice, with a minimum fundraising target of £150 to help support our services.
  • Participants in this activity do so entirely at their own risk and must rely on their own ability and must take part in the challenge in a manner which is safe to themselves and others. Neither Prospect Hospice, its directors/trustees, staff or volunteers or venue and staff or anyone else involved in or with the organisation of the event shall be held responsible for any accident or injuries or other loss sustained by you before, during or after the challenge.
  • All walkers must sign a liability waiver before they are able to take part.
  • Participants are trained during the seminar on how to walk on hot embers safely.
  • Participants must be present and listen carefully at all times always following instruction.
  • All participants must behave responsibly and any behaviour deemed unacceptable may result in removal from the challenge.
  • The minimum age to take part is 15 years old. For the purposes of safety, anyone aged 17 years old and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian with a parent or guardian signing a liability waiver for them. Participants of any age are asked to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship.
  • No alcohol is to be consumed prior to or during the challenge. UK FIREWALK reserves the right to stop walkers if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • You must deem yourself to be medically fit to take part. If you have any concerns you must speak to your GP in advance of the challenge.
  • Please note that any photography and filming uploaded to the designated social media pages may be used for current and future publicity purposes, unless you have not given the charity permission at the related stage of registration or we have received direct correspondence from you thereafter to withdraw your permissions.
  • You must adhere to any current government social distancing guidelines regarding Covid-19. The Government may potentially change this guidance and you are responsible for keeping yourself updated on the advice.
  • Dogs are not allowed at the fire walk event.
  • Registrations are strictly personal, firm and binding and fees shall not be refunded for any reason or places transferred.
  • Cancellation is unlikely and the organisers will take all precautions to avoid it, but should cancellation occur for reasons out of the organisers control, then participants will be notified as soon as possible.
  • Should part of the venue be unavailable for safety reasons, due to inclement weather or reasons out of the organisers control, the organisers reserve the right to adjust the location or cancel where absolutely necessary.
  • By entering the Friday 13th Fire walk with Prospect Hospice, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and confirmed that you are medically fit to participate.
  • Questions should be directed to the Prospect Hospice fundraising team via 07544 391226 or fundraising&events@prospect-hospice.net
