Beard staff present cheque from dragon boat race event

We were delighted recently to welcome staff from local construction company Beard, who came to present a cheque for £445 which had been raised by their team's participation in a dragon boat race in the summer.

In total twenty members of staff and their families raised the money by getting sponsorship for their teamm at the Swindon Rotary Club's annual event for charity at Coate Water in June.

Beard business and development coordinator Sarah Roberts said: "Prospect Hospice is staffed by very special people who do such tremendous work in caring for and comforting the sick in the community during the final days of their lives. They are the unsung heroes who we wanted to support and the Swindon Dragon Boat Race seemed like a great way for our families and friends to get together, have fun and raise money for a very worthy cause."

Our thanks to everyone from Beard who took part in the event and for this very welcome boost to Prospect Hospice's funds.
